The community of Rochester is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Quantavious Lee and Charles Barnes, both 21, who tragically lost their lives in a devastating wrong-way crash on Rochester’s Inner Loop early Friday morning, June 26. According to the New York State Police, the fatal crash occurred at approximately 1:26 a.m. when a 39-year-old woman driving a Honda CR-V was reportedly traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes of the Inner Loop. Authorities said her vehicle collided head-on with a Ford Fusion carrying Quantavious Lee and Charles Barnes. The impact was severe, and both young men suffered fatal injuries. Despite the efforts of emergency responders, they were pronounced dead at the scene.
Following the initial collision, the Ford Fusion was pushed into a Jeep Liberty driven by a 29-year-old man. Officials reported that the Jeep driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment. The driver of the Honda CR-V also suffered serious injuries and remains in critical condition.
