Ian Dixon, 21-Year-Old, Hollansburg Obituary, Death Died in Tragic Darke County Dirt Bike Crash
The community of Hollansburg and residents across Darke County are mourning the tragic loss of Ian Dixon, 21, who died following a devastating dirt bike crash in the early morning hours of Friday, June 26. His sudden passing has left family, friends, and neighbors heartbroken as they remember a young man whose life ended far too soon.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the fatal crash occurred on Richmond Palestine Road, just north of Downing Road in Darke County. Preliminary reports indicate that Ian was riding a 2005 Honda CRF250 dirt bike northbound when it collided with a southbound 2014 KTM 350 SX-F dirt bike. Investigators say the KTM, operated by 19-year-old Kasyn Hollinger of New Madison, crossed left of the center line moments before the collision.
The impact caused both riders to lose control of their bikes. Ian’s dirt bike continued off the west side of the roadway, while the KTM traveled off the east side. Emergency responders arrived quickly and attempted lifesaving measures, but Ian sadly succumbed to his injuries. Hollinger survived but suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to Kettering Health for treatment.
Authorities continue to investigate, reviewing factors such as speed, alcohol involvement, and helmet use. Meanwhile, tributes have poured in for Ian, who is remembered as adventurous, kind-hearted, and passionate about riding. Though his life was tragically cut short, Ian Dixon’s memory will live on through the friendships he built, the love he shared, and the lasting impact he made in just 21 years.
